Patrick Leach

Patrick G. Leach began his legal career in Saint Paul as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael Talbot DeCourcy in Ramsey County District Court. While working for Judge DeCourcy, Mr. Leach attended law school in the evening at William Mitchell College of Law. In his last year of law school, Mr. Leach became a student certified attorney for the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office. Following graduation Mr. Leach began working in the Saint Paul City Attorney’s Office as a prosecuting trial attorney. After leaving the Saint Paul City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Leach went into private practice with Thomsen & Nybeck in Edina. While with Thomsen & Nybeck, he handled all types of litigation matters including civil, construction defect cases, Association law, family law, criminal defense and municipal prosecution. During this time, Mr. Leach also began working with the City of Edina as their municipal prosecutor. Mr. Leach opened his own law firm in October, 2014 and remains the prosecuting attorney for the City of Edina since 2001.

Mr. Leach continues to handle litigation in areas involving criminal and civil matters. He also handles all aspects of family law cases. Mr. Leach also represents various clients in landlord/tenant disputes and eviction actions. Mr. Leach is a member of the Federal Public Defender’s Office where he handles conflict cases for the United States District Court.

Mr. Leach believes strongly in being a zealous advocate for his clients. Mr. Leach understands that the legal process can be a daunting one for individuals. He strives to ensure that his clients understand that he is looking after their best interests and placing their needs first.
